Microsoft Zune

Launch Site

Zune Originals

In the fall of 2007 Zune came to us to help them build Zune Originals, a customization platform for Zune Devices. The Zune Originals design team in Redmond had been hard at work on the front-end design and our role was to bring it to life and integrate with a backend commerce system developed by Arvato Digital Services.

Create Your Own

With a focus on highlighting the “tattoos” that had been commissioned by Zune to be laser etched on the backs of their players we built a light-weight, flexible Flash application that supports both customization and commerce. We worked closely with the design team to focus on simplifying the interaction design and purchase process, allowing users to quickly customize and purchase a device.

Zune Store

The success of the Zune Originals site led to the development of the Zune Store. Working closely with our friends at Odopod, who were redesigning Zune.net, we designed the store to work in tandem with Zune.net. The store supports the sale of devices, accessories, Zune Points & Zune passes. We handled all the front-end design and development while Arvato Digital Services & Flextronics took care the credit card processing and fulfillment. One of the highlights of the project was the creation of the Zune LTD section of the store to promote special edition devices like the Gears of War 2. Pretty sweet.
