Eagle Eye Free Fall

"Do what we say and you will live..."

Step inside the world of Eagle Eye Free Fall, an interactive experience where what you say could make the difference.

Fourth Wall Studios came to us to help them make Eagle Eye Free Fall an immersive experience integrating voice recognition and Flash that served as a prequel to the Paramount Pictures feature film Eagle Eye. After entering your phone number, the site calls you and the journey to find the fleeing Phil Mourra begins. We won't spoil the ending, but it doesn't look good for Phil...

Tricked-Out Technology

The front-end of the site is Flash-based, backed by a LAMP stack. All content was streamed through Amazon S3. The phone conversations used Voxeo's IVR Platform, and to maintain snappy responses to phone interactions we used a chat connection between Flash and Openfire, an open source XMPP server. Yowser!

An Opportunity to Learn

We really hadn't done or seen anything like this before - the use of over-the-phone voice recognition to trigger events on a web site - and that was attractive to us. Given the complexity of the project it proved to be a great vehicle for learning from a technical, visual and storytelling perspective. And being selected for the 2009 Commarts Interactive Annual wasn’t too bad, either.
